Kitchen islands are often on the top of the wish list for people designing their new kitchen and understandably so, they look great, offer amazing storage and also make a space incredibly social.
However, not everyone wants an island and not everyone can fit an island in their kitchen space. Luckily there are other ways of achieving storage and creating a social space without one, which still looks stylish and works wonders.
Peninsulas
These can come in all shapes and sizes however, in terms of alternatives to islands we see a lot of L-shaped countertops, which can work well and make a space both functional and social.
Not only can you fit chairs around them but why not fit in a wine fridge, storage drawers, washing machine or a book case?!
Banquette Seating and table
We love banquette seating and find that they work wonderfully in small and big spaces. When considering them as an alternative to a kitchen island they are particularly useful in smaller spaces and gally kitchens.
Not only do they look great but they also provide valuable storage and seating space. The bespoke fit makes the kitchen look tidy and provides an extra wow-factor, in our opinion.
