The Details
This kitchen features quite a serene colour palette of white, light blue and warm yellow toned accents. The main cabinetry runs are painted in ‘Belgravia’ while the island is ‘Maritime’ both by Mylands.
A combination of the Sparkbrook Pull Handles and Sparkbrook knobs were used to dress the bespoke cabinetry, all in a gorgeous satin brass finish. The Sparkbrook range is a rounded, more modern handle than our usual Bakes Pull and features a beautiful knurled effect on the edges, adding texture to the space.
Further leaning into the brassy colour palette are the yellow splashback tiles behind the sink. The intricate white pattern keeps from the vivid yellow colour of the tiles from becoming heavy, while the decision to carry the tiles from the worktop all the way up to the wall units is pleasing to the eye and adds a certain grandness.
We asked our clients about their process of choosing colours and hardware and they said:
“We probably spent more time on colour than anything else. We chose light, muted tones for the cabinets, with a view to achieving our objective of restfulness but then added maritime blue to the island to provide an elegant contrast. So as not to make the room too monochrome, we went for a daring splashback and made a feature out of brass handles. We spent lots of time working out where best to place the hob, oven and sink so as to making cooking as easy as possible.”
