The Design
This kitchen makes for lovely and airy open plan living. Not only does this one wall kitchen work great for socialising but it also connects the living space with the kitchen. It makes use of every single space available making it flow nicely.
The bespoke design features an upper and lower run of cabinets, which are situated in between a floor to ceiling cabinets. On the opposite side to the oven is a free-standing dresser and the large island offers plenty of storage too.
“The previous kitchen didn’t work for us but between Luke and I we worked out the best layout and design. I wanted something between modern and traditional and their design ticked all the boxes.”
The kitchen is its own style. It is a mix of modern and traditional making the design work for the period of the house as well as the client’s needs. It is painted in a lovely black colour, which when the light changes makes the atmosphere and hues change too. It’s beautiful.
The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc
This kitchen has extraodinary attention to detail, and is packed full of storage both visual to the eye and hidden out of sight. From the stone worktop flowing throughout the kitchen to the sink on the island we love how this kitchen flows so smoothly in so many ways.
The drawers in the island are a particular great design feature here as it looks neat from the living room side but offers functional storage for the family.
“I love to cook, so I needed a layout that would be smooth for cooking but also create a space that connected the kitchen and living room to avoid it becoming seperate.”
The hidden storage is lovely in this kitchen and the Quooker tap serves as an elegant reminder of how this kitchen was designed to be lived in and used throughout the day. The seamless sink works really well and the worktop is a lovely fresh detail too.
The Dresser
The bespoke oak dresser is as elegant and stylish as it is functional. It works perfectly to store the family’s most used utilities and is a lovely bit of furniture to incorporate into the space.
