The Design
We have loved being part of this stunning multifaceted project for our lovely client in the Cotswold’s. Everything about the design, cabinetry, colour choice and fittings just flow so beautifully throughout their home and we love how the clients’ personal style and personality shines through everywhere.
Every cupboard or door you open in this kitchen has a hidden bespoke surprise, maximising the storage potential to the max and creating day-to-day ease and functionality. The main kitchen run is L-shaped with floor to ceiling cabinets, upper and lower cabinets and a gorgeous corner breakfast bar with pull-out shelves. The island comfortably fits the family, whilst also allowing for prepping and socialising.
“The main design didn’t really change too much from the first meeting, which is credit to Herringbone for their ability to listen and create. I was really keen on a bespoke kitchen, something we could have ‘for life’, and was keen that the quality was top-notch - something you just cannot achieve with an ‘off the shelf’ kitchen.”

The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc
We love how the cabinetry is flushed with the walls but still makes such an impact in the space. The reeded glass in the upper cabinets look lovely and add texture to the kitchen. The corner cabinet with the pull-out shelves and pocket doors is beautiful and practical allowing for constant use with no disruptions.
“I am also keen on ‘clean lines’ and not having any clutter on show, so love my breakfast cupboard which neatly hides the coffee machine, toaster and microwave.”
The CRL Verona Quartz veined worktop is pretty against the dark cabinets, which are painted in a bespoke charcoal grey colour created for the client from the Herringbone Paint range. The Bora induction hub is almost invisible making the kitchen feel tidy and neat at all times. In addition the butler sink is situated perfectly under the window to the clients’ lovely garden making it a lovely part of the kitchen to be using.
The brass handles, which are continued throughout the house, creates a lovely warm feel to the kitchen and we love the scalloped tiles the client has chosen as their back splash. The structural kitchen extension was created by architect Niki from NMA Studios.
“It brings me so much joy standing behind the island and chatting to the kids whilst they eat. Our kitchen is truly the heart of our home and has transformed how we use our space. We are very sociable and it has been wonderful having our (very) large extended family over and hosting friends for dinner.”
The Bar
This home bar is a real talking point and a stunning piece of design, we have to say we love everything about it. Painted in the same colour at the kitchen, the pink is another bespoke colour created for the client from the Herringbone Paints range, which makes for a real wow-factor. The shelves are the perfect height for the clients’ glassware and accessories and the fact that it lights up makes it even more unique.
“Our bar cupboard is fabulous, with a bright pink interior and antique glass back. It is such a talking point when we open it.”
The Utility
The utility follows the same design and colour as the kitchen. There is plenty of worktop space for any folding. We love how the washer and dryer are stacked to maximise the height of the room as well as the space.
“I love having a utility room, it really is the utility of dreams and also has a large pantry cupboard.”
The Hallway Cupboard
This fitted coats cupboard situated in the hallway of the family’s home is fitted and flushed against the wall. It’s a beautiful and functional piece of storage, which hides away coats, shoes and assecories that are used on a day-to-day basis. Invaluable for a large family.
The Living Room Dressers
These beautiful mirrored alcove living room dressers look wonderful and so stylish. The clients’ great taste in interior design really shines through here as well, as everything feels and looks very seamless. The brass handles and the colour is followed through from the kitchen, utility and hallway units uniting all the joinery elements beautifully.
