“We wanted our kitchen to have quality craftmanship and also design flair, Herringbone delivered on both of these and it felt like a truly collaborative process. The pantry and wine storage weren’t originally in our scope of work but we were so impressed with the design of the kitchen that we broadened the remit to include the additional areas.”
The Design
This beatiful kitchen is the perfect mix of our two styles - the Westminster for the tower units and main run of lower cabinets and the Westgate for the large kitchen island on legs.
The kitchen space is maximised with floor to ceiling cabinets being fitted along one wall and a lower run of cabinets on the other side holding a large Range Cooker and sink. The large kitchen island holds a lot of storage and offers seating for the family.

The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc
The material used for the island is stained oak, which brings warmth to the space and goes perfectly with the Quartz worktop and the burnished brass handles.
The floor to ceiling cabinets hide away the fridge, freezer and pantry larder and reveal an exposed display shelving unit at the end of the run. The doors in the middle open to reveal a large utility room, which sits just off the kitchen and enables the family to use the space in any way they’d like. They are painted in a very light pink colour.
“We had a really clear vision from the outset that we wanted an island on legs and a completely clear island worktop. We had met with a couple of other firms before and been told it couldn’t be done but Rob got the vision from the first meeting and then brought it to life. He took the ideas we already had and elevated them further. Being fully bespoke was the best way to bring the creative ideas to life and also made the best use of space, for example we have the range oven, two dishwashers, and the sink all along one run which we couldn’t have achieved without bespoke cabinetry.”
The Home Bar & Walk-in Pantry
The bespoke home bar fits perfectly under the stairs and is made in stained oak. The wine racks and wine fridge are designed to be bespoke storage units to fit the space available.
The pantry cabinets and walls are painted in an Indian yellow shade and lit up by strip lighting to be able to easily see and access anything needed from the open shelving units and floating shelves.
“My favourite part of the kitchen is probably the stained wood on the island, which Rob cleverly also inserted into the extractor façade. I also love the way the worktop runs into the windowsill – this was an idea direct from Rob and it gets so many compliments from visitors. Oh and I also love that the electrics to the island are carefully concealed in one of the legs which is hollowed out.”
