The Reigate Kitchen, Walk-In Pantry, Oak Larder & Bar
“We had the initial consultation where we talked thorough what we liked/didn't like, things we were looking for and immediately got on really well with David, we loved his enthusiasm and the ideas that he brought to the conversation. After seeing the first designs, we were very quick to decide that Herringbone were the kitchen company for us and the rest of the process was extremely enjoyable and pain free.”

The Design
This is an absolute stunning open plan kitchen that makes your eyes sparkle everywhere you look. From the walk-in pantry and the home bar to the oak double larder and sizable island, the design and flow of this kitchen space is just gorgeous.
The bespoke design features a lower run of cabinets against one wall holding the large range cooker, with the home bar and wine fridge to one side and additional tall storage cabinets to the other. On the other side of the kitchen sits the walk-in pantry and the double oak larder and the large island offers plenty of storage and seating too.
The kitchen is designed in our Westminster Style and is painted in a lovely Container Green colour from Herringbone Paints, which when the light changes makes the atmosphere and hues change too. It’s beautiful.
“I think there were certain areas we were really set on before we started, and the layout of the room dictated a number of things. While we both had a vision of what we wanted, I think the final kitchen has probably surpassed that! We were so impressed with the professionalism and way the process was handled.”
The Details: Colours, Hardware, Worktops Etc
The lines are smooth, the symetry is beautiful and the detail of the design intrigues anyone who spends time here. The kitchen is designed to be a social space for entertainment and functional on a day-to-day basis while still feeling homely and cosy any time of the day or year.
The worktop and splashback throughout the kitchen is a 20mm thick Arabescato Marble with a polished finish, which in itself is a piece (or slap) of art, the veins are beautiful. in addition this kitchen has extraordinary attention to detail, and is packed full of storage both visual to the eye and hidden out of sight.
“We wanted a space to entertain in, where we could host all our friends and family that would have the space and the facilities to do that. We already had a big room, but how we used the space and made it feel homely and welcoming was what we needed Herringbone to help with.”
The storage in the drawers make it easy to find what you’re looking for as well as putting away. We love how anywhere you look you see through to another room, whether that’s the pantry or the living room.
“Choosing colours wasn't the easiest, as we went through a few options. We knew we wanted a dark colour, but we also had to consider how the colour would complement the adjoining lounge and boot room. We also knew we wanted the larder to have a contrasting/fun colour. We were very pleased with the combination we ended up with.”
The Walk-In Pantry
From the crittal doors and natural oak worktops and shelves to the wine storage and the solid oak ladder we adore this walk-in pantry. The sky light makes it feel light and airy and the Coop Pink cabinet colour from Herringbone Paints is the perfect contrast to the dark kitchen.
“The walk-in pantry is probably our favourite bit, the colour contrast to the rest of the kitchen is great, the style and layout is just perfect, we get so much use out of it, and the ladder is such a talking point, as well as being really really useful to reach the high shelves, meaning we're making full use of the space that's in there.”

The Oak Larder
The double larder is a beautiful detail fitted perfectly against the wall. The natural finished oak used to make this unit has stunning detail and creates yet another wow-factor in the kitchen space. The marble is continued as a cold shelf perfect for wiping away any dirtiness from its everyday use.
“We also love the pantry cupboards, we discussed with David whether to paint it a different colour, or how we could make it feel like a piece of standalone furniture - we were both pleased when we settled on the natural wood finish, but I don't think either of us expected it to be the beautiful work of art that it is. The way they've used the grain of wood as a feature is just stunning, and it's definitely a highlight of the room.”
The Bar
The drinks unit is a real wow-factor in this kitchen space. The open shelves add a real feature and personality to the kitchen - perfect for entertaining, which the family loves to do. We love the mirrored splashback too. It is within reaching distance of the wine fridge in the island too, which makes the space super functional. A real bespoke wow-factor.
On Using Herringbone
